F194/U Bandpass Filter

This is a military surplus bandpass filter that covers 142 to 163 MHz. It's pretty small and is convenient when you need moderate Q in the VHF high band range. Insertion loss is about 0.5 dB, and the 3 dB bandwidth is about 4 MHz.

This plot from an Agilent 8712ES network analyzer shows the filter tuned to the NOAA weather channel range, where I used it ahead of the measurement gear for some signal strength analysis; the filter keeps strong local broadcast stations from mucking up the noise floor of the wideband receiver I'm using.
