[time-nuts] FTS4060 Continuing Saga

Hi:

In an attempt to get the yellow Align lamp to turn off, while the green 
Lock LED is on, the 4060 was unplugged yesterday around 11 am and today 
around 10 am plugged back in and turned off the AC power fail alarm.

At about 11:15 the Yellow operation LED, the red operation Alarm and the 
yellow Align lamp were on and the control voltage was searching.
When the red operation alarm lamp/button and the yellow Align 
lamp/button are both pressed (stops the searching) the yellow operation 
LED and the red operation Alarm both turn off and the green operation 
Lock LED turns on, BUT the yellow Align lamp continues to be on, just 
like before the power down cycle.

The control voltage is 3.3 and the beam current is 2.8, both well within 
their acceptable ranges i.e. far from needing centering.

If the Loop is opened and the modulation turned off the beam current 
jumps up to over 5, but the operational check in the manual suggests 
that is should only jump up 50% (this maybe OK a little over 5 compared 
to 4.2??).  It does go back to 2.8 when the modulation is turned back on 
as the manual says it should.  At this point both the lock and operation 
LEDs are off and the operation alarm and Align lamps are on.  Now 
closing the loop causes the green operation Lock LED to come on.  
Pressing the red operation alarm has no effect.  Pressing both the 
operation alarm and the yellow align buttons turns off the operation 
alarm, and so back to just the green Lock LED and the yellow Align lamp 
being on.

The jitter on the time interval is about 9 ns so all appears normal, 
except for the Align lamp being on.
