[time-nuts] Speaking of problems with Garmin

For me I've submitted 7 map errors, 5 were fixed in the next release,
the other two were not. Could be too close
to the release, will see what happens. I forget who does their maps.
But I did notice on one of the changes, Google
changed as well.

My issue with Garmin is if you have a consumer model, mine's a 265WT.
They either don't have a clue or don't
give a rip about using it with their FMI/Fleet Management interface
(*). I contacted their support and asked if the 265WT
would would with the FMI-40 FM/Power cable. It does and their is no
issue. But I never got that from Garmin.

I got things like "no it does not work", " what is it that ?", "we
don't make that item, then after giving URL, I was
told that is proprietary", "It will damage your unit", and so on....
Never got "I don't know, but I will forward your request"

If this PND gets stolen I'm done with Garmin, I just don't like being lied to.

The cable https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=32197 can be found
for as little as $30.
