Hmm, clocks based on the decay of C14 or K40...  Definitely the other 
end of the timing spectrum from picoseconds.

But think about it.. Is there some way to measure *time* using *just 
C14*.    I'm not sure. You could measure the rate of disintegrations, 
which halves every 5700 years, but that measurement requires another 
clock (to get the count interval).

So, how would you build what is essentially an absolute time measurement 
(with very long time scale).

Sort of a LongNow problem, I suppose
