[time-nuts] Clearest article yet on LightSquared's threat to GPS

In my humble 46 years on this planet, I've witnessed the FCC make some of
the dumbest decisions that have ever been made, and this under both
political parties rule. It has to be that the heads of the government
departments are either utter morons, (and chose for this reason), or are
corrupted after they take on the post. With the deep pockets of large
business, and monopolies in the case of the FCC, along with crooked
lobbyists, whom most used to be government officials at one point, it's a
wonder that the air waves aren't in worse shape than they are.

The problem we really have, are stupid and naive congressman, who have no
knowledge on a subject such as this, pushing things through congress, for a
favor to a political donor, and then when it falls apart at the seams,
they'll try to lay blame for the failure on everyone, or everything, but
the right one. In this case, it seems that the FCC listened to a bunch of
hog wash, without doing any sort of correct testing beforehand, and now
that it's after the fact, have been caught with their pants down about
their ankles. Now, it's up to who has the deepest pockets, and the most
political pull, in who gets what privileges within the band in concern. Of
course, that may have been how they wanted it to play out to start with,
who knows?
