Hi:

I just started reading the subject book where the mathematics of the pendulum are used as a unifying idea to tour physics.
Included is a correct illustration on page 205 of Foucault's gyroscope demonstration that the earth turns 360 degrees in 
a sidereal day.

Maybe there will be a reference to a gyroscope as a pendulum that's making full circles rather than swinging back and forth.
