Back in the day,  I talked with him several times and worked on some issues with their original GPS board firmware.   

Lady Heather actually started out as a program to control their first OEM boards ($800 each, qty 1... unheard of at the time).  It was written around the time of the first gulf war when the whole military inventory of GPS boards was well under 1000 units and they needed a lot more GPS units very quickly.  The program could run on a PC or the HP 95LX palmtop.
