Hi Greg,

The Motorola designed Timing2000 GPS antenna was manufactured for Motorola by Yokowa of Japan for use in Motorola CDMA and iDEN cell sites. Here is a complete Timing2000 datasheet with mounting backet dimensions.

There is lots of free-air volume in this design so, in spite of an O-Ring seal, it still breathes with excursions of barometric pressure. If the timing2000 is located at or near a shoreline, or in humid weather areas, it will pull in moisture that cannot escape. In servicing these antennas, we found that salt air is much worse that being near fresh water (not a surprise). We also found that a thin application of silicon grease to the O-Ring stops air transfer at some, but not all, installation sites (this "fix" was recommended but not adopted).

I have not tried this experiment with our Timing2000 engineering unit yet, but it may also receive Galileo and BeiDou signals in spite of its dual-filter design.

Subject: [time-nuts] Motorola Timing2000 GPS “L1” Antenna

These Motorola brand GPS “L1” antennas (circa 2000) have appeared on the Surplus market (used, eBay, elsewhere), as Mobile/cellular sites perform upgrades.
Prices / condition range from a Used few $$ to New in Box at $100 + .

Electronic Goldmine (Scottsdale, AZ) has listed the Motorola Timing2000 GPS antenna (they don’t know model) and it’s matching Motorola Pole Mount at Electronics Surplus in Mentor, OH

Motorola GCNTM20A3A : Timing2000 Antenna (Outdoor), Goldmine.
