I today received a Tekron Axiom42 GPSDO. Of course surplus from China, but at around â¬30 delivered an interesting find. These units were also sold under the brand name Rakon.
It does work, producing a square wave 10MHz, which after some time appears to reach GPS locked. It has two serial ports, one labeled MngRx/Tx, one labeled GPSRxD/TxD. Both used 3,3V levels. I had expected the Mng port to be the management port, but interestingly enough it only emits NMEA GPS sentences at 38400N81. The GPS serial port produces gibberish, could very well be TSIP (I guess). PPS is present, TOD sends data as well, not sure yet on how to interpret that.
After extensive searches I have failed to find any documentation on it. Is there anybody on this list who happens to have documentation for these modules? Things like "does it have a proper user/monitoring interface, the pin assignments of the 30something pins connector on the left, signals like Alarm, TOD" etc is what I am interested in.
Thank you,
Wilko
