Hello time nuts

Some of you will have come across 10MHz clocks with an embedded pulse-per-second flag ("EPPS"). Greg Armstrong of Renesas recently presented on the topic:

EPPS: Single interface phase and frequency distribution for resilient synchronization
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgTYFPzbY6I

There is talk of an initiative to formalize EPSS in an annex to ITU-T G.703.. https://wsts.atis.org/session/eppsilon-at-the-edge-embedded-pulse-per-second-precision-for-ai-autonomy-and-resilient-timing

Is this a good idea?
