You are not alone in making explanations that you believe are clear
which others however do not find them to be so.
I have also given explanations that I believed to be perfectly clear,
but others didn't find them so.
On reflection it has usually been because of all the "obvious" (to me at
least) assumptions that I left out.

On occasion one finds onself being "reeducated" on a topic one has been
familiar with for decades.
However on reflection one realises that there was nothing in ones post
that indicated that one knew anything about that topic at all.
