[time-nuts] Industry standard scpi command set for counters or frequency references?

While working on the implentation of scpi control, it became clear there
are substantial differences between available implementations.
My initial thought was to use the FS740 from SRS as inspiration as this
also  contains both a multi channel timer counter and a gpsdo, but the
FS740 is not very new, it may be a wrong choice.
While basic MEASURE, CONFIG and READ commands seem to be fairly common, a
clear difference with , for instance, Siglent counters is how the channel
selection is done.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what scpi command set to use as
inspiration to provide largest communality and easy learning and usage?
